Pick the right Portuguese size: passport, citizen card, or ID

Portugal is one of the EU countries where size actually changes by document: passports and visas are often 35×45 mm, citizen cards may use 30×40 mm, and some ID flows use a 32×32 mm square.

Cartão de Cidadão (citizen card) photos are frequently 30×40 mm. Re-crop from the original portrait—trimming a 35×45 print with scissors ruins head height.

Some ID instructions list 32×32 mm. That square is not interchangeable with Schengen 35×45 or with 30×40 citizen-card photos.
